FRIDAY 5th/
SEPTEMBER 2014.
So we were
up early this morning and after a quick breakfast we shot around to the surgery
to make an appointment for me to have an update/check up next week on Wednesday
morning; meanwhile Brenda popped down to the local market for some fresh
flowers and plants, we then carried on down to Sabinillas.
First stop
was the bank and then we called in to the English bookshop for the papers and
to exchange some books, two more ‘Lee Childs’ to read! Next it was the
supermarket for our main large weekly shop; it was back to normal as all the
holiday makers have gone home! Before we went to ‘Super Sol’ for some essential
English goods we stopped on the way at the ‘Charity’ shop and Brenda found two
summer shirts for me in the 50% sale - i.e. 2 euros each!
We then
came back up to the village and unpacked; I put the car away in the underground
car park and then went along Call Mar to the Tobacconist to top up my mobile
then on down to the butchers for some boned Chicken Leg & Thighs for the curry,
I’ve already got some Breasts put away. See the pictures above of Calle Mar
getting ready.
Today it’s
very hot, overnight the breeze dropped and the forecast for the weekend is
hovering around the 35/36 degs mark, next week it’s getting hotter as there is
another hot front coming in from Africa – we will survive!
‘Scruffy’
is due at lunchtime for the day and we will then sort out next weeks visits;
‘Reina’ is with us as normal on Tuesday & Thursday;it turns out that 'Scruffy' will be with us on Tuesday also but he is staying with us for two nights on a sleep-over!
This
afternoons stage 13 of the ‘Vuelta’ is from Belorado to Parque De La
Cabareno,Contador is still in the lead in the ‘Red’ jersey.
So this
evening before we go out to the ‘Flamenco’ concert which does not start until
10-30 we are having “ Goujons of Hake Fillet’ with Garden Peas, twice-cooked Frits
and of course some of my Tartar sauce that I’m just about to make!
Thoughts
for the Day; See above.
