SUNDAY 14th/
APRIL 2013.
We had a
nice lie in on Sunday morning as we have had a few early starts this week;
after our tea and toast we got the Sunday dinner on the go, ‘Lamb Cutlets
Boulangere’ – Mano dropped some more off in the morning as one bag was not
enough for the four of us! I marinated them in Virgin Olive Oil and Rosemary
and cooked them,in the evening, crisp on the griddle pan before putting them on top of the
Boulangere Potatoes to finish in the oven.
During the
morning the Grand Prix from China was on so I watched it on TVE1 in
Spanish, which was good as the commentators went mad when Alonso won! – Hamilton was third. At lunchtime we went for
a short walk with the dog and ended up at Bar Rojas for drinks and Tapas, Paella,
a slice of Empanada and some diced Liver( Mainly for the dog as a treat)
Later in
the afternoon I went on-line on the large PC and watched the second semi-final
of the FA Cup at Wembley between Chelsea and Manchester City – City won 1-2 and outplayed Chelsea in the first half with especially
Yaya Toure playing out of his skin! They meet Wigan in the final who they play in the
Premier League on Wednesday!!
In the
evening Mano, in high spirits after the City win, and Anna joined us for
dinner; Brenda’s vegetables were Cauliflower and Broccoli Florets in my special
three cheese sauce with sliced Green Beans, Carrots and Garden Peas along with
shaped Roast Potatoes and the Boulangere potatoes accompanied with lots of Mint
sauce!
Before we
caught a film late I checked out the results of the ‘Liga’ football; Real
Madrid and Barcelona both won 3-0 with Ronaldo and Messi scoring two a piece –
also Athetico Madrid won 5-0 with ‘Falcao’ scoring two as well! The Masters
Golf was won by Adam Scott securing his first major and at the same time becoming
the first Australian to win the ‘Green Jacket’ – he beat Angel Cabrera in the
sudden death play-off.
The late
film was a romantic comedy-drama with no shooting,stabbing,fighting,car
chases,horror,murder etc. called “ No Reservations ” from 2007 with Catherine
Zeta-Jones as the head chef of a trendy Manhattan restaurant with Aaron Eckhart
and the young lead played by Abigail Breslin.
Thoughts
for the Day;
Everyone
has talent. Alone we can do so little;
together we can do so much. Do a little
more each day than you think you possible can.
