MANILVA AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 19th/ SATURDAY 2Oth/ APRIL 2013.

Late on Thursday/Friday morning Jack and Lyn made contact on the Skype video, it was five to one here and five to nine over in Melbourne; they are starting to get excited about their trip to England and then down here in sunny Manilva in June. They have spotted the flights from Manchester to Gibraltar with Monarch so it is now up to them and the sisters over in England to book their flights ASAP. Jack has had a touch of Pneumonia but is her usual happy self – it’s the injections that are working!

On Friday morning we went down to Sabinillas for our shopping and to pick up the papers, at lunchtime Anna called in and we had a good chat and gossip, the weather is fine but a little cooler as forecast and it looks like we have more of the same over the weekend and into next week.

In the evening for supper we had large Fresh Gambas a la Plancha,we can’t get enough of them! The late film on TVE1 was a very gripping and gruesome thriller called “ Untraceable ” from 2008 with Diane Lane as a FBI cybercop chasing a rather nasty killer played by Joseph Cross – don’t miss the end!

This morning, Saturday we had a nice lie in and after our tea and toast I retired to the office to watch ‘Saturday Morning Kitchen’ on my BBCTV connection; now the qualifying rounds of the Grand Prix OF Bahrain is on TVE1 downstairs which I’ am listening too as I type this; later it is the MotorGP qualifying from the inagural ‘Grand Prix of the Americas’ in Austin in Texas. Everton are playing today but tomorrow its Tottenham v Manchester City and Liverpool v Chelsea – over here both Real Madrid and Barcelona play at home this evening – results later.

PS; Everton lost 0-1 to Sunderland. Both Real Madrid and Barcelona won at home. Watch out for the new 'Wonder Kid' Marc Marquez in the MotorGP!

Tonight we are having ‘Steak a la Plancha’ on our griddle with Sautéed Onions and Mushrooms, finely sliced Green Beans and of course crisp chips! It will then be late film time after we catch all the football highlights from the Premier League, the Liga, Italian Serie A and the Bundesliga ! The very late film was " 15 Minutes " from 2001 - it stars Robert de Niro and Edward Burns in a very harrowing story about two New York cops chasing down two mad Russian killers,Karel Roden and Oleg Takitarev with Kelsey Grammer as a TV newscaster with attitude - lots of twists right up to the end.

Thoughts for the Day;

Hope never abandons you. you abandon it. Once you choose hope,anythings possible. Hope is not a dream,but a way of making dreams become reality.
