I got up to see ‘Reina’ back with us for
the day, she shot into her duvet and we then all had a nice lie in as there is
no noise from the site, it looks like the builders have finished, the other day
all the new windows arrived and were fitted by the specialists, next it should
be the doors and the final services etc.
Over night the heavy rains hit us and this
morning its now damp and overcast but the rain is due to go away by lunchtime
when the temperature is going up to 19/20 degs! Over the next few day its
staying dry but now a little colder as there is a new front coming in from
across the Atlantic.
So after breakfast we sorted ourselves out,
we are taking things easy for the rest of the day, tomorrow morning we have a
little shopping to do down in Sabinillas, over the weekend we have nothing
planned and then next week we are also ‘free’ with no appointments etc, ‘Reina’
is back with us for the five days from Monday.
This morning the ‘Euro’ has dropped again
as the markets re-act to the world wide problems, its now at its lowest in over
three years and they are forecasting that there is more to come! Our next
Pensions cycle is due to start again in two weeks so its not looking good! We
have just received our ‘Xmas’ Pension bonus in our Spanish Bank account from
the ‘UK Government’ – 10 pounds each!!
This evening we are having Grilled ‘Smoked
Gammon Steaks’ ( Iceland ) with Garden Peas & ‘Frits’ – topped with
Pineapple & ‘Campo’ Fried Eggs, on Friday its going to be my famous ‘
Seafood Risotto’ before Saturdays ‘Steak Night’ On Sunday evening for our ‘Valentines
Day’ supper we are going to have a ‘Brenda’ –‘Prawn Cocktail Marie Rose’ to
start, then for the main course its my version/recipe of ‘Poulet Saute Marengo’
– ‘Napoleons’ favourite dish ( not Josephine !) - a poached ‘Breast of Chicken’ finished in a
creamy Lobster & Prawn sauce topped with a ‘ Campo’ poached Egg! For our
dessert we are having ‘Strawberries Romanoff’ !!
At the moment as I’m typing and posting the
Blog I’m listening ( Loud!) to a very good programme on ‘ Castle Radio FM 89.’
& World Wide on the Internet at ‘Castleradiofm.com’ playing and talking
about 60s music.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
