WEDNESDAY 2nd/ SEPTEMBER 2015.
I was up before dawn, and Brenda. this morning as I took Josie over to the bus station in Estepona to catch the bus to Malaga Airport; she is flying into Belfast,she then gets on the fast bus to Derry passing on the way through the Irish country side, her daughter,Rosie, then picks her up for the final leg of her journey to Letterkenny, known as the 'Cathedral' town of County Donegal.No problem for a seasoned traveler like her! See the picture below;
She's arrived safely and is working in the kitchen!
On the way back along the coast road there was a brilliant Red sun rise over the Mediterrean, I stopped off in Sabinillas but by then it had risen in the sky, I took the chance to take some pictures down on the promenade, the beach is now back to normal now that the holiday hoards have gone home, its just for us 'locals' now! See the picture below;
When I got back to the house the workmen,on both sites, were in full flow & voice, they chat and sing all the time while they are knocking the hell out of what ever needs sorting!! The village is very quiet otherwise at this time of the day.
The weather forecast for the rest of the week and over the 'Vendimia Festival' weekend is looking fine and settled,its a little cooler than normal,just on the 31/32 degs mark, with a very pleasant breeze, the night time temperatures are hovering on the 22/23 mark still!
For our breakfast we had Crispy 'Smoked Bacon Butties' with a mug of steaming tea to set us up for the day ahead,well that's my excuse! We are having an easy at home day catching up with the chores and sorting ourselves out for the weekend ahead; for supper this evening we are having dry grilled 'Chicken Breast Escalopes' with finely sliced Green Beans and some Baby New Potatoes in their skins.
One bit of bad news is that the 'Euro' is continuing to slide down , its those dammed 'Chinese' again, yesterday one of our Pension transfers was down again on last month, then over the next two weeks our two main Pensions arrive in our Spanish Bank A/C - so it looks like they will be down considerably!!
Today's Stage 11 of the " Vuelta d'Espana15" is being talked about as the the hardest and toughest stages in the history of the Tour over the past 70 years as the riders start in the Principality of Andorra, the sixth smallest Nation in Europe, and finish in Els Cortan De En Camp over only 138 kms, the problem being the SIX major climbs on the way! See the profile of the route below;
We are still having our 'Happy Hour' everyday but we are unsettled at the moment as to where to have it, reading downstairs in our main lounge has too many distractions from the street as well as the light not being as good to read!
Anyway after supper we will catch up with all the news, sport and weather details before channel hopping to find something to watch ( over 90 channels to check!) on our Spanish TV set up.
