THURSDAY 16th/
OCTOBER 2014.
‘Riena’ was
dropped off by Daniela first thing this morning on her way to work with Lee
over in Gibraltar; we then shot back up to bed and had a good lie in until we
were all awoken by a group of local ‘Maria’s’ talking/gossiping’ down in the
street outside our front door! 'Chispa' has been in and out all morning and at lunchtime playing with her girlfriend.
We had our
usual breakfast of tea, toast and fresh fruit, ‘Canaries’ Bananas at the
moment, then went for the first walk of the day with the dog; the sun was out
early this morning as forecast and its already warm and sunny in Manilva,by
lunchtime it will be hot! Over the next few days it’s even getting better and
by Sunday it will be reaching nearly 30degs!
Sorry to
all our family and friends over in the UK – Why not shoot over for a weekend
break down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol ’ and sunny Manilva – bookings are being taken – some dates left!
Speaking of
the UK yesterday the ‘FTSE’ stock market had the
biggest drop in over a year after the Asian markets also dropped, later in the USA their markets reacted in a similar
fashion! What this means to us is that the Euro is down against the pound and
our various monthly 4 week pension payment are under threat.
This week
on Monday the pension transfer that was due did not come though until Tuesday
due to the Bank Holiday here in Spain, this meant that we lost out on the rate
that day, in fact on the Tuesday it was still higher than last month so we
still ended up a little! If it had been yesterday we would have been down by
nearly 40euros!! Watch this space.
Some news
just in, Lilli is not coming tomorrow, she had to put in it back a week until
next Friday due to some last minute commitments. Same time, same place!!
At lunchtime our Swedish fiend Lillymor called in for a chat, she is due to fly back to Gotenberg at the start of November so I'm going to drop her off at the bus station in Marbella.

This
evening we are having the Chicken Curry again but this time with Basmati Rice
and twice-coked Frits! Last nights picture of the curry supper was taken using
the new ‘Sony’ camera, I usually use the Mobile phone, as I was checking out
the various settings I found one for ‘Gourmet’ – natural shot of food! Result!!
We then
watched “The Bourne Supremacy”from 2004 with Matt Damon, of course, Joan Allen
and Brian Cox, we have watched it many time before but its always one to catch;
over on one of the other main channels we then followed the last episode of the
award winning TV drama “Broadchurch” from 2013 which I had read about but not
seen over here until found it last night!
Which is a
pity as it looked very good and stars David Tennant and Oliva Colman in the
main roles as police detectives investigating the murder of an 11 year old boy
in a tight rural community in a costal fishing town – there’s a surprise ending
so just in case you have not seen it I will not give the game away!
Thoughts
for the Day; See above.
