FRIDAY 3rd/
OCTOBER 2014.
Up bright
and breezy this morning and after our usual breakfast we shot around to the
local market for some fresh flowers and plants; we then carried on down to
Sabinillas for our weekly shop, topped up the car with petrol ready for next
week as we are out and about, used the new Debit cards at the bank cash machine
with no problems and called into the ‘Ferrateria’ for a light bulb and the
‘English Bookshop’ for the weekly papers and to exchange some books, there was
an offer on second hand hardbacks so I found two ‘James Patterson’s’ that
hopefully we have not read!
Our next
port of call was to ‘Mercadona’for the main shop before finally calling into
the ‘Stationery Shop’ for some glossy photo copy paper. We then shot back up the
hill through the vine fields and unloaded the car; I also checked the oil &
water before our trips out to Estepona and then Marbella .
So after
typing and posting the Blog I’m going to get ready tonight’s supper; we are
having ‘Goujons of Hake Fillet’ using local Breadcrumbs with diced Frits and
‘Mushy Peas’ - with of course Homemade ‘Tartar Sauce’ and lots of Lemon wedges! See the picture below!
‘Scruffy’
is due back at lunchtime after his holidays for the rest of the day, we are
really looking forward to seeing him, we have missed him, he’s is a real
character!
It’s still
very warm today and over the weekend into next week, we are very lucky as the
rest of Spain and Andalusia yesterday are still having severe rain storms; over
the past couple of evenings/nights the ‘Crickets’ have started, it make for an
exotic atmosphere as the male ones rub their back legs together to make the
sound to attract the females to mate! I’ve tried but with no luck, so far, it
must be my technique!!
Last night
we watched a good award winning film “ A Beautiful Mind ” from 2001 – its an
Biographical Drama abut the life of the ‘Nobel Laureate’ John Nash played by
Russell Crowe with Jennifer Connelly ( Oscar) Ed Harris, Paul Bettany and
Christopher Plummer. One to watch!
Thoughts
for the Day;See above.
