A WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY;

SATURDAY 18^th/ OCTOBER 2014.

Just a little lie in this morning before I took ‘Scruffy’ out for his first walk of the day,he’a a little off-colour at the moment and did not eat his dinner last night, so this morning Brenda gave him some ‘eggy’ brown toast,hisfavorite,as she was having her Campo boiled egg while I had Poached Eggs on toast!

The sun is out and its going to be a hot one today and even better tomorrow, the start of next week is looking good already; sadly over in the UK there is a hurricane heading there way across the Atlantic from Bermuda so its batten down the hatches time ‘up north’ in Skelton!

I’m upstairs in the office watching on BBC TV 1 “Saturday Kitchen Live” on the small PC while as you can see I’m typing and posting the Blog on the large PC; later I will prepare tonight’s supper ‘Entrecote Steaks’ cooked med-rare on the hot griddle and served with Sautéed Baby Mushrooms, local Green Beans, twice-cooked Frits and Béarnaise sauce on the side. Now for some sports news; today over in the ‘Premiere League’ Manchester City welcome Spurs, Everton are at home to Aston Villa and Liverpool travel to QPR on Sunday. Over here in ‘La Liga’ Barcelona play Eiber and Real Madrid travel to Levante,it’s a ‘Helluva’ week for Real Madrid as next Wednesday they go across to Anfield to play Liverpool in the ‘Champions League’ and then a week today its ‘El Classico’ when they welcome Barcelona with Messi,Naymar and for the first time Suarez !

Meanwhile over in Australia at ‘Phillips Island’ below Melbourne and very close to where Jack & Lyn live it’s the ‘Australian Motor GP’

Last night after our fish supper we settled down to watch an all-action movie “S.W.A.T.” from 2003 with Samuel L Jackson and Colin Farrell, we then found another all-action film and caught the last half hour of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” from 2005 starring Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie in the title roles as two assassins working for different departments and trying to kill one another!!

Finally I quick word on the surprise news yesterday of Antonia, the Mayor, resignation, I left a message on her timeline on Facebook,in very bad Spanish, to which her all the very best for the future with her family and to thank her for all the work she has done for sunny Manilva; its getting lots of ‘Likes’ from both Spanish locals and foreign residents, the ‘Queen of Skelton’ left a message in perfect Spanish. “ Muchas Gracias” Antonia!!
