THURSDAY 21st/
AUGUST 2014.
‘Reina’
arrived first thing this morning; she was dropped off by Lee as Daniela is away
in London for a few days; she’s here for the
day and her little friend Chispa has just called in to see her! On Sunday
‘Scruffy’ is coming at lunchtime for a sleep over as Adrian & Rose are back in work after
their week off.
The weather
forecast is looking very good over the weekend and into next week, it’s getting
hotter, yesterday it reached 37degs in places, here it was just a little cooler
as the breeze took effect.
So this
morning we are getting things on the go for the ‘State Banquet’ this evening,
the vegetable chef is preparing the Broccoli Florets, Asparagus Spears and
Saffron New Potatoes and I have just made the ‘Tomato Concasse’ and peeled and
finely chopped the Shallots for the ‘Duglere’sauce to be made this evening; the
Tortilla is ready as well as the Langoustines, finally the ‘Dessert Platter’ is
coming together to be finished this evening also!
Next
everywhere is being mopped, dusted and polished, the plates and cutlery (proper
fish knives & forks!) have been selected and the table setting is ready to
welcome the ‘Royal’ couple on their last state visit this year.
Later we
will be showering and freshening ourselves up so as to be presentable for when
they arrive for cocktails at 7-30pm. The little Red ‘Guest’ comment book is
open at a fresh page hopefully for a favorable comment on departure!
Watch out
for some pictures later with possible a four person ‘Selfie’ taken with my new
camera – we have the knowledge and technology, so fingers crossed that I push
the right button!
