A VERY HOT AND SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY;

SATURDAY 16th/ AUGUST 2014.

We all had a little lie in this morning followed by breakfast before ‘Scruffy’ was picked up later; its already hot this morning and over the weekend and through next week its getting hotter.

So today we are having a nice quiet day at home taking things easy and catching up with the chores, Brenda has the washing out, it dries very quickly at this time of the year!

I’m up in the office watching ‘BBC TV Breakfast News’ live on ‘Film-On’ on the smaller PC as I’m typing the Blog on the larger PC before ‘Saturday Kitchen Live ’later.

Just after lunch I was taking a breath of air outside our front door as a couple passed,I said 'Ola!' and realized that they were English; so we got chatting and we ended up asking them in for a cool drink- Leigh & Mandy from Hereford are staying down here as they are planning to come over and live up in Murcia so we had a long chat and hopefully gave them some information on life over here and pointed them in the right direction! We wish them all the very best for the future, they might even come up to 'Bar Rojas' tomorrow for Lumy's Paella!!

This afternoon the football season kicks off over in England in the ‘Premiere League’ with the first game being Manchester Utd.v Swansea, later the newly promoted Leicester welcome Everton; tomorrow its Newcastle v Manchester City and Liverpool v Southampton – watch this space.

Utd lost at home to Swansea 1-2 - oh dear! Everton could only manage a draw 2-2 and Aston Villa ( Leigh's team!) won at Stoke 0-1 !!

This evening for supper we are having ‘Entrecote’ steak cooked on the griddle med-rare, sautéed Baby Mushrooms, finely sliced Green Beans and twice-cooked ‘Frits’ with fried Garlic Buds for Brenda and mine topped with a Campo fried Egg! And I nearly forgot a little ‘Béarnaise’ sauce on the side!

Last night we watched the re-make of the “Thomas Crown Affair’ from 1999 with Pierce Brosnan, Rene Russo and Dennis Leary. Much later I caught a documentary on ‘TVE 2’ introduced by David Attenborough about the ‘Giant Panda’ and how they are being bred in captivity by the Chinese Government – a fascinating, very interesting programme to watch.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
