MANILVA THIS WEEK.

TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY 27th/28th DECEMBER 2011.

The weather forecast for the week and over the weekend is more of the same, sun and blue skies and getting warmer; Tuesday was no exception as we went for our walk with Cheta around the village after our local TV repair man had called in to get us back to normal, he was here about an hour and worked on the mast and receivers and totally retuned the TV; the outcome is that we now have all the main channels working perfectly and we now are able to watch any English origin films and programmes,in English, by pressing the translate button! We found episodes of ‘Cheers ’and even a golden oldie ‘Poldark ’from back in 1975 as well as current shows. Later in the morning I made a hot Curry Sauce and in the evening we had, guess what? Turkey Curry and Basmati rice. We then settled down to watch a film in English ‘The Devils Brigade ’ a world war two story starring William Holden and Cliff Robertson – all action.

Today, Wednesday is even nicer, shirt only if you feel like it,we had a Skype Video call from Jack and Lyn on their way back from Sydney to Melbourne- they where in their caravan and they had just had a seafood supper at a restaurant on the coast by Eden above Cape Howe. We then set off on our walk around the village; we bumped in Anna, Carlos and Fabio outside Bar Rojas so caught up with all the news and had a nice drink sat in the sunshine, Brenda yesterday actually caught a little sun on her shoulders when she was sat up on the roof terrace! Fabio was playing with a baby Lamb that Manolo,from Bar Rojas, is bottle feeding-it has been abandoned by its mother as you can see in the picture above, also they have started to repair the old Cinema which has been closed for many year, it is opposite the new park, in the past all the villages had Cinema’s and most of the older people in the village did the courting there ! Watch this space. Tonight we are giving the Turkey a rest and are having Steak and Chips with Mushrooms and Onions for a change.

Thought for the Day;

Forget about mistakes that you can’t change. But don’t forget the lessons that you’ve learnt.
