MANILVA TODAY.

FRIDAY 9th/ DECEMBER 2011.

First thing this morning we went down to Sabinillas for the weekend shopping; we got a lift from somebody we knew and came back in a taxi as it was big load ! We then walked down to the local market by the sports complex to top up the fresh vegetables and buy some fresh flowers and our third Poinsettia ! We also bought a very large bag of local potatoes from Antequera,not expensive, which is in the hills behind Malaga, they deliver them on a scooter to your front door by the time you get back, in fact they will bring your fruit and vegetable order if you want – Brenda bought a bag of local tomatoes as we have Tomato salad every day with most of our meals. At lunchtime I called into ‘Nacho’s Café ’which is just along Calle Mar from Bar Rojas, Nacho very kindly let me take some pictures of the prints of Old Manilva which he has hanging on the wall, thanks ! As you can see below and above things have changed somewhat ! The last couple of photographs show Calle Mar today with Nacho’s Café on the right with the oldest house in the village with the stone balustrade that had not changed in both ! The final picture shows last nights Beef and Mushroom Pie which we enjoyed with Mano and Anna !

Thought for the Day;

A faithful friend is the medicine of life.
