MANILVA THIS SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 18th DECEMBER 2011.

Yet another crisp and sunny morning as we got up after a little lie in; in the morning I made the Boulangere Potatoes for dinner tonight and then we went for a brisk walk around the village with Cheta,we ended up at Bar Rojas and were able to sit outside in the warm sunshine under the Sonbrajo to take in the sights and smells of sunny Manilva; we had a light Tapas lunch of the diced Liver in a rich Salsa with a plate of Lumy’s ‘ Patatas Fritas ’as we were sat there a friend Gillian came along with her daughter,Jessica,who has come over for a couple of weeks for Xmas,Gillian lives in a urbanization just below the village on the side of the valley called ‘ Montes Vinas ’ and comes originally from the Isle of Wight, where she was and still is a piano teacher. They joined us and caught up with their news as they also had some Tapas along with a glass of Rioja !

In the afternoon I watched the Manchester City v Arsenal game ,City won 1-0 and are still top of the Premiere League above Utd. Last night the late game on the TV was the match at Sevilla against Real Madrid, Real won 2-6 and Ronaldo scored a hatrick and broke the record for the most goals scored in a year -46 ! Earlier in the day Barcelona beat the Brazilian side Santos 4-0 in Japan in the FIFA Club World Cup Final, they played sublime football and Messi scored two great goals as they totally outplayed Santos, even their manager Guardiola was raving about them !
In the evening before our dinner of Roasted Lamb Cutlets on Boulangere Potatoes we watched a traditional Xmas film on TVE1 – “ Bridge on the River Kwai ” from 1957 ! Later we caught a good cowboy film with William Holden again in the main role and finally the late film was “ Firewall ” starring Harrison Ford as a security specialist who is forced into robbing the bank that he works for after his family have been kidnapped by the villain “ Paul Bettany ”
