TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY 6th/ 7th/ 8th / DECEMBER 2011.
As we got up on Tuesday morning it was another glorious day; the forecast for the rest of the week and over the weekend is more of the same, blue skies and sunshine with the temperature hovering at around 20 degs; as it is a Bank Holiday the village is very quiet with no traffic on its way to work, after our tea and toast Brenda went for a walk with Cheta as I was catching up with the blog in the office. At the sports field there were Junior Football and Basketball and lots of parents watching ! In the afternoon I watched on the BBCIPlayer a documentary on ‘ Mark Zuckerberg ’the founder and genius behind ‘ Facebook ’ The presenter was ‘ Emily Maitles ’ from Newsnight on BBC2 – she happens to be a graduate from Cambridge with a first class honors degree in Mandarin Chinese ! So she asks all the right questions and even at one point got the PR man from Facebook to look dumb – he could not answer the question ! Mark Zuckerberg is still a young spotty gook and IT nerd but he could be worth 17 Billion Dollars in the next year ! The most interesting part was when she interviewed the Harvard Professor that tutored him in IT, he said that he could teach him anything, just the same as when he tutored Bill Gates !! He must be doing something right ! In the evening we had Pork Cutlets for supper and then settled down to watch the TV. Chelsea v Valencia was on the Spanish sports channel, Chelsea won 3-0 and went through to the next round of the Champions League as did Barcelona who won 4-0 but it was the way that they played and who played that was rather special, they were all very young and none of the first team of stars where in the team, they played just like the stars, one of them was just 17 !
We went down to Sabinillas on Wednesday morning after posting all the Xmas cards at our local post office in the village – watch out for them in the next week ! Last week we had one day when a card from
This morning after breakfast I got the Beef and Mushroom Pie filling on the go; Brenda prepared her vegetables, Glazed Carrot slices, Cabbage with Alselgas and Brussels Sprouts; I also blanched the Bataille Potatoes for tonight which I will serve crisp from the chip pan as the Pie emerges from the oven with its Puff-Pastry top ! Mano and Anna are joining us for dinner. As it is another Bank Holiday today Brenda is watching ‘ Gone with the Wind ’this morning as I was in the kitchen it was ‘ Superman ’ !
Thought for the Day;
Argue about what is right – not about who is right.
