THURSDAY 24th/
OCTOBER 2013.
It was time
for a little lie in this morning but we were awoken by the sound of drums and
whistles, it was the local’s getting slightly un-rulely! In fact is was a
street protest march against the Government Education cuts, which we happen to
agree with! All the councilors led the march which ended up outside the Town
Hall at the top of our street – see the pictures above.
We then had
a shower and freshen up as we are going for our anti-flu jabs at lunchtime down
at the surgery; still no sign of any rain but its looks like we will have some
in the next two days but then back to normal on Sunday! It’s still warm and at
the moment the sun is out as Brenda has taken the dog for a walk.
Today is an
at home day pottering about and catching up with the
chores, washing, drying, ironing, mopping and any other ‘ing’ that Brenda can find!
Meanwhile I’ am up in the office catching ( another- ing!) up on the WWW.
Our ‘Happy
Hour’ still takes place every day, most important, but it depends on the
weather where we are; tomorrow is our shopping(!) day so I will check out the
‘Jack Higgins’ book selection if I can’t find another ‘Patterson’ to read. The
chill-out room on the first floor is very pleasant and we have our little
fountain on to set the mood, with the plants, of ‘Tranquility and Peace’ !! Today we were still up on the roof terrace in the hot sunshine!
This
evening for supper it’s simple but nice time; Omelet’s, Cheese for Brenda and
Mushroom for me with dry sautéed Potatoes and cut Green Beans. When I say
Omelet I’ am talking about a proper made, shaped, domed one with the filling
added just as you fold it, just a little colour, the Chef that taught me used to
say that it should look ‘Like a Baby’s Bottom!’- then turned out on the plate
properly – not anything like the abomination’s that they produce on the ‘Omelet
Challenge’ on ‘Saturday Morning Kitchen !!’See above !!
Thought for
Day.See above.
