SUNNY AND WARM MANILVA ON SUNDAY

SUNDAY 13th/ OCTOBER 2103.

Yet another sunny and warm day in Manilva with a little cool breeze; this morning we have been back in the old routine of preparing the Sunday roast, the first in over nearly 4 months. Roast Chicken with a savory Herb stuffing and a finger licking pan-gravy; from Brenda’s department we are having Broccoli & Cauliflower florets in a three –cheese sauce, Cabbage with Alsegas, Carrots and Garden Peas, Baby New Potatoes and my famous Goose fat Roast Potatoes! Mano and Anna are joining us for supper later; See the pictures above of this mornings work.

Whilst we were getting things on the go on TVE2  there was another documentary about chefs, this week it was the Head Chef in the palace of Prince Albert of Monaco – Christian Garcia who trained under Alain Ducasse in Paris, its in French but that suits the programme as they talk about and show the food, it sounds so much more appertising in French! This week he was preparing a small luncheon in the palace for the President of France; the inside of the palace as you would expect is lavish and it showed them setting the table with the royal silver and glass, measuring each place setting! The meal was a classic high French cuisine-‘ Barbajuans’- deep-fried Vegetable Ravioli, ‘ Monagasque Cod’ and ‘Saddle of Lamb in a Provencale crust’ with pickled vegetables!

On the sports front this weekend Vettel won the Japanese Grand Prix but not yet the World Championship for the 4th time! Over at the ‘Malaysian Motor GP Dani Pedrosa won but Marc Marquez increased his lead in the championship with three race’s to go

Over the weekend we caught on Friday evening a good film from 1997 “ Kiss the Girls ” starring Morgan Freeman as Dr,Alex Cross the legendary detective created by ‘James Patterson’ It followed the book but we think that the part should be played by somebody younger!  Ashley Judd is very good in a gripping s tale right up to the end!

As you can see below the opening of the Museum and park was a bit of an occasion! The Museum has been done very well and of course the park is rather special;the village Brass Band got things on the go,the Mayor unveiled the wall plaque and later the children's play area was full, on the stage there was dancers and singers and all the village celebrities posed  for their pictures including me with Diego and Mario in front of the Mosaic Mural depicting us crushing the grapes !!!

Thought for the Day; See above.
