MANILVA AT THE START OF A HELLUVA WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 12th/ APRIL 2013.

Well this morning we were up bright and early again as we has to shoot across to Estepona to pick up Brenda’s X-rays; we then had to call into the council offices in Sabinillas as we had to sign a new document to do with our ‘Residence’- it has to be up-dated every five years. We then called at our bank and then into ‘Mercadona’ as it opened before stopping at the English Bookshop for the papers and a birthday card – watch out if it’s yours shortly! Whilst we were down in Sabinillas we shot along to the English butchers in Duquesa and treated ourselves to a Rib-Eye and Rump Steak for dinner on Saturday.

After unloading we went for a nice walk in the noon day sunshine, jumpers off as it is getting hotter – 23degs! We picked up some fresh flowers from the local market down by the sports complex and on the way back I noticed that there was a large crane outside the church; which answered the question about the large concrete base outside the entrance, it is for a very large and brand new T-bone crane as you can see in the pictures above.

This weekend is a big sports extravaganza; The Master’s Golf at Augusta, Atlanta in Georgia, the Grand Prix in China and football here and in England – the big game is on Sunday in the FA Cup Semi-final at Wembley – Chelsea v Manchester City. The draw has just taken place for the UEFA Champions League semi-finals first legs;

Bayern Munich v Barcelona
Borussia Dortmund v Real Madrid

Also in the UEFA Europa League semi-finals first legs;

Fenerbahce v Benfica
FC Basel v Chelsea

Tonight we are having for supper large fresh Gambas a la Plancha before we settle down to watch a film.The late film was remake of " Assult on Pricict 13 " from 2005 with a strong cast of Ethan Hawkes,Laurence Fishburne,Gabriel Byne,Brian Dennehy and Drea De Matteo.

Thoughts for the Day;

Dreams are the touchstone of our character. If you can dream it,you can do it. A dream is an answer to a question we haven’t yet learned to ask.
