MANILVA AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND

THURSDAY 7th/ FRIDAY 8th/ SATURDAY 9th/ FEBRUARY 2013

When we got back from the hospital we called into the chemists to pick up some tablets and cream that had been prescribed by the consultant; we were in a for a little(Large) surprise as we had to buy them as they were not on the prescription list – oh dear – ‘Mucho Dinero’ ! We are going to see our doctor next week to see if we can get them prescribed by him as the packet that I have will only last for five days and the course is three weeks! Watch this space. In the evening we had Sausage, Egg and Chips, well Brenda had to have an omelette as she cracked a tooth eating diced Celery just before dinner, she always has a small bowl for nibbling! The late film was “ The Ninth Gate ”from 1999 starring Johnny Depp,Frank Langeila,Lena Olin and Emmanuelle Ssigner in a supernatural thriller.

So first thing on Friday morning we called into the Dentist in the village as he opened and arranged to get things fixed ASAP, in fact Brenda went back later before lunch and he finished things off; Job done and not exspenive!We went down to Sabinillas for the shopping and we then had  meeting at the solicitors about the contract on the house, it’s up for review every 11 months so I had typed up a list of things, with pictures that require repair/maintenance; also we made a proposal for a rent reduction due to the Euro rate ongoing fall! Watch this space !! When we got back we went down to the market in the village for some fresh flowers and on he way back I took the pictures of the road markings all being repainted, they have also started to work again on the new Plaza Del Vendimia next to the Wine center as you can see below. The council have also started to decorate the three roundabouts in the village with sign’s and symbols about the village – pictures to follow next week. Over in England David is quickly becoming a media celebratory star as this week alone he has been BBC Radio Five,BBC Radio Manchester and this morning he was on the BBC TV Breakfast show ! Next weekend he is here with Jane down on the hopefully sunny Costa Del Sol so I’ am making arrangements for him to project his celebratory status !! Watch this space. For supper we had some small but tasty Prawns with salad before channel hopping.

This morning we had a good lie in as tomorrow we are up very early for our trip on the coach to the Carnival in Cadiz; we then freshened ourselves up and took the dog for a walk, she is always full of the joys of spring and knows our routines so well, she is very clever and of course she is multi-lingual as she answers to us in Spanish and English! The pictures above show the new shop open, the lady behind the counter, Maria used to have a small bar in the middle of the village when we first arrived here, it was noted for it’s freshly Roasted Chicken! At the moment I’ am following the Rugby and Football over in England but later we are going out to a party; Sally Ann’s son Dylan is 9 today so he is having a party in the large garage below the Spanish family house. Pictures to follow. Later we are having for supper Minute Steak with Baked Potato and salad before an early night ready for day out on Sunday

Thoughts for the Day;

Heredity; the thing a child gets from the other side of the family;  Hereditary is what sets the parents of a teenager wondering about each other.
