The sky is
blue and the sun is out, i’ts 23 degs and no breeze but sadly by
Saturday/Sunday the rain is back – sorry Jane! We have just come back from a
long walk with the dog around the village as you can see in the pictures above;
Brenda is now catching up with washing and drying ready for the weekend as we
make more plans for Jane’s visit. On Saturday before we go to the Marriott
Resort we are going to call into the Puerto Banus branch of ‘El Corte Ingles
’to window-shop and have a snack lunch – it is the biggest department store
group in Europe and ranks fourth worldwide – each one along with the
‘Hipercore’hypermarket adjacent makes it just like ‘Harrods’ On Sunday we have
planned to have a ‘Roast Leg of Lamb ’for dinner with all the trimmings, I will
finish the Lamb on Boulangere Potatoes and the Rioja as has been chosen ! When
she arrives on Friday evening Brenda is going to meet her in the new airport in
Gibraltar and we are then going into ‘La Linea de la Concepcion ’for Tapas at
‘Bodeguiya before we head back along the
coast road to ‘Puerto de la Duquesa’ for a Thai meal at ‘ Restaurante Asiatico
Kinnaree ’
The village
today is very quiet as it’s the “ Todos Los Santo – All Saints Day ” bank
holiday; we stopped at the graveyard and bumped into a lot of our neighbors as
they were leaving their flowers as you can see above. Over the last couple of
days I have been also following the football over in England and here; it has
been ‘ Cup Week ’ so in the UK it was the ‘ Capital One ’and here the ‘ Kings
’Both Barcelona and Real Madrid had comfortable wins while over in England
Arsenal beat Reading, at Reading,7-5 after being 4 – nil down ! Chelsea had their revenge on Manchester
Utd. as they won 5-4 but sadly Liverpool , at home to Swansea lost 1-3 ! Terrible ! Last night
after our Curry supper we watched the two bond films; “ Goldfinger ”from 1964
with Sean Connery and Honor Blackman as ‘ Pussy Galore ’ ‘ Oddjob ’was the
killer and Bond’s car was for the first time the ‘ Aston Martin DB5 ! Then it
was from 1977 “ The Spy Who Loved Me ” with Roger Moore and ‘ Barbara Bach ’
now ‘ Ringo’s wife as the Russian spy !
Thought for
the Day;
He who can
see the invisible can do the impossible.
