MANILVA / LONDON THURSDAY.

WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY 8th/9th/ AUGUST 2012.



Well it was a quiet day here in sunny Manilva and over in London; no medal’s on Wednesday for Team GB especially as the showjumppers in the form of the red hot favorite Nick Skelton on ‘Big Star ’ sadly had a fence down in the jump off – oh dear – so sorry for Nick as his horse had not put a foot wrong in any of the other competitions ! Brenda was around at the surgery in the morning for another blood pressure test and had also an ‘ECG’ heart test at the same tine. Meanwhile back at the house I made a Chicken Curry for supper; later in the evening the classic films were both ‘ Classic’s ’ – “ China Town ” followed by “ Bonnie and Clyde ”

This morning Brenda was up bright and early as she had an appointment with the nurse for her blood and urine samples, she is back next Friday to see our Doctor for the results ! Watch this space. We have just washed the car before it gets too hot – it still dries as you are doing it !

OLYMPIC NEWS UPDATE;

Today we are watching out for the results in the Ladies Open water 10km swim in the ‘Serpentine ! ’Sailing down at Weymouth, Taekwondo,Ladies Boxing, Canoe Sprint, Dressage – All with possible medal hopes and especially Gold in the swim, sailing and boxing !

PS; Sadly our swimmer Kelly-Anne Payne was fourth in the Open Water 10km by a matter of inches- in fact four-one-hundredths for the Bronze medal after nearly two hours of swimming !

At the sailing in the Ladies 470 medal race down in Weymouth the start is delayed due to no wind !!

PPS; " GOLD FLASH " Charlotte Dujardin has just won the Gold medal at Greenwich Park in the 'Individual Dressage ' and Laura Bechtolsheimer the Bronze for Team GB !!

PPPS; Double " Gold Flash " Great Britain's Nicola Adams ( Babyface ) has just won the first ever in history Gold medal in the Flyweight class in the Ladies boxing - and next in the ring was Ireland's Katie Taylor who beat her arch rival the Russian Sofya Ochigava in the Lightweight class !! The fans in the EXcEL Arena both from Great Britain and Ireland are going mad !!


This is just unbelievable ; Jade Jones at the age of 19 has just won the Gold medal in Taekwondo under-57k final at the ExCel Arena for team GB !!!!!!! She beat Yuzhou Hou of China who is the World No 1 !!!!!!! Her trademark headkick won her the contest !!

And now for the really good news - SHE WAS BORN IN BODELWYDDAN IN NORTH WALES !!!!!!
