After the full continental breakfast David and Jane went for a walk around the village while we sorted things out in the house and freshened up; the weather was hot and sunny and later it went over the 30degs. mark for the first time this year, we decided to show them Estepona which is one of our favourite spots on the coast. We parked in the underground car park along the front and walked around the main pedestrian shopping area and window shopped! The girls bought some trinkets and scarf’s etc.and I spotted a beautiful pair of Red Leather slip on shoes that I was nor allowed to buy – another day! We ended up in Flower Square with all the Orange trees and had our first drink of the day to cool us down at it was then getting hot ! It was then time to head for the hills. again, as we had planned to go to Venta Garcia for lunch; we were recommended to it by a friend of Jane’s via Tripadvisor,we had passed it many times but is always looked like a building site ,it still does ! To call it a Venta is somewhat of an understatement, it is a very clever Restaurant from the moment you walk in; the manager, Jesus greats and seats you in an elegant styled, slate floored restaurant overlooking the hills; it has very special glasses and crockery with very comfortable large, deep wicker chairs and the two local staff hit you with the service from the start, The Menu Del Dia is only 12 euros and is on from Monday to Friday as usual so we went A La Carte;Jane had the Foie Gras,David had the Goat Black Pudding which he pronounced out of this world, Brenda had the Scallops in a Seafood Broth as you can see in the pictures below and I had the Fish and Chips for a starter which was a main course in its self; we ordered a Cordenuio Rose Cava which was full bodied and served in the fine wine glass’s went down a treat, a second bottle followed shortly ! For our main courses Jane had a Shoulder of Lamb, David a Pork Loin Dish with Chorizo and Fried Egg, Brenda had the Grilled Turbot which as you can see in the pictures was a portion and a half and I had a Large Entrecote Steak with Chips, all out of this world and looked after very watchfully by Jesus. Jane had an Assorted Platter of Sweets and I had the Crème Caramel as David and Brenda were on the Coffee’s. Whoh!! The plan was to join Mano, Anna, Carlos and Fabio down in the Manchester City supporters Beach Bar to watch them in the Cup Final against Stoke City, we didn’t make it as we retired to home for a siesta and sun bathing for Jane; Manchester won 1 – nil their first trophy for 35 years ! Mano and Carlos went wild and Mano called in later before we went out for supper to let us know that they had won!! We went up to Bar Rojas for some Tapas and Lumy made us a Small but delicious Tortilla as you can see in the last picture, I was on the the best and largest Bacardi and Coke’s in the village and the rest of the folks saw off a couple of bottles of Faustino Rosdao which they have in especially for Brenda! The night was finished on Coffee’s as David and Jane said farewell to Sunny Manilva, they are planning to return at the start of September for the Vendima Wine Festival, the climax of the year when hopefully I will become the first English Pensioner to crush the Grapes! Watch out !!! The picture above shows David and Jane heading for
