MARBELLA,ELVIRIA AND LAGUNA VILLAGE

Wednesday 30th April.

At the start of this week we had a phone call from Joyce another friend from outside Chester and who has a small house on the other side of Marbella saying that she had just arrived also ! we knew she was coming but not when so we arranged to meet her in Marbella for lunch. As we went over to Marbella we called into the most beautiful Hotel Puente Romano which is five star and we had a cooling drink in the terraced pool bar down on the beach which you walk down to thru the award winning gardens, they also have the most exquisite and expensive Lobster Buffet on at Lunch time.We set off for our Tapas lunch with Joyce in Marbella and first went to the wrong one,but after a phone call we met up in the La Venencia which has three bars in Marbella and is where Joyce had introduced us to last year when she was over here as she also had showed us the Puente Romano! The weather was very hot and sunny, the tempreture was 28oc in the shade. We introduced Jane to Joyce and they got on like a house on fire as we had a very traditional Tapas lunch as we ordered more when we ran out and consumed bottles of Vino Sol like they were going out of fashion! The picture below shows Les Girls on the front at Marbella after lunch ! Joyce could not join us for dinner as she had already made arrangements, as we had booked to go to The Beach House at Elviria for dinner. The picture also below shows one of our favourite restaurants at dusk and with Jane and Brenda looking at the menu.Jane had the house special Fish Cakes and we had the Rib-Eye steaks with Bearnaise sauce and thick cut chips with a once again house recommended White wine from North East Spain, which was special ! On the way back we called into the marina at Estepona on a balmy night and had coffee and brandies, just as we were leaving Jane spotted the local police and tried to get herself arrested but our camera was out of power so the pictures are on Janes phone!! Watch this space !

Thursday 1st May.

Thursday morning was free so we had Cheese and Ham Toasties on the roof terrace and the Queen caught up with her sun bathing! At lunch time we had some Smoked Salmon and Vina Sol before we set off to see Mano on the terrace of the Aparthotel and then go over to Laguna Beach which we had booked as it was a bank holiday here in Spain, The all white Puro Beach Restaurant looks out over the beach and infinity pool and is one of the in places on the Costa del Sol.The picture above shows the view and Jane and Brenda checking out the menu .Jane had the House Chicken-Mex Raps,Brenda had the grilled Sea Bass and I had a Ceasar Salad and the house Burger with drinks and a chilled Puilly Fuisse in the afternoon sunshine with the music from the DJ.We then crossed over to the Mai-Tai bar for the happy hour cocktails ! On the way back on a beautiful evening we stopped at a Chiringuito beach bar just before Sabinillas called “ La Sal “ which we had not been to before and had our last drink with Jane,or as her friend Dean Sullivan calls her “Pearl “ His new programme on City Talk Radio in Liverpool in the afternoon is very good and Jane has a guest spot on it and I’ve not got it on the PC and I am hoping to make contact with Janes help to speak with Dean as a ex-scouser !! On air !! Watch this spot !!! In the morning I am dropping Jane off at the Airport in Malaga, first thing-the queen returns, The label for this post is the possible title for the book which we came up with over cocktails !
