Saturday 10th May.
On a warm and sunny day we decided to have a quite day at home so Brenda potted about and I went into the office and updated the blog page.In the evening we watched the T.V.after a fish supper of Pan-Fried Sole and Halibut fillets with a Lemon butter sauce and diced fried potatoes cooked in the local Olive Oil.
Sunday 11th May.
After a lie in we got up to yet another sunny day and had a late brunch as Vidal and Gissy were due to come over for supper but had to cancel at the last moment as they picked up a gig in the afternoon so we changed the menu and as Anna was also joining us we also asked Carlos and Anna Mari with Fabio to come round as well so we sat down to a late Roast Chicken dinner with all the trimmings and washed down with the local Tinto Rioja,Mano called in on his way home from work and collected a plated meal to finish off a lovely family day with Fabio growing up before our eyes and already speaking in two languages !
Monday 12th May.
We had arranged to go out for lunch to the local Venta for the Menu del Dia but at the last moment Mano called to say that the builders had arrived at their house without telling them that they were coming so they had to stay in and look after things as they had been waiting for them to come for months-Spanish Syle !!Whilst we were getting ready I put the P.C. on and was listening to the morning show on Talk Radio, the presenter Duncan Barkes was just saying as I came out of the shower that it is National Sandwich week in the U.K.. and was asking people to ring in with their favorites so I dropped everything and phoned in to tell them ours and also the history of the sandwich! I once again got straight thru but the producer asked me to talk about the Spanish equivalents and so I had to very quickly make some notes as they put me on air. After five minutes we then got back to our favorites and spent another five minutes giving him the benefit of our knowledge !! The producer then came back on and said that they would use me again as I am now a City Talk V.I.P. contributor!! Tonight we are having some lovely Pork Chops from the local butcher called “ Chuleta’s ”with a Spanish style Ratatouille made with roasted root vegetables.
