MANILVA START OF A HELLUVA WEEK.

MONDAY 3rd/SEPTEMBER 2012.

BRIAN AND LILLI HERE IN SUNNY MANILVA – MONDAY DAY 8.

Well after the weekends celebrations Monday was definitely an at home day; the gang took thinks easy after a lie in, Brian and Lilli went for a breath of fresh air and a walk for a swim up at the Manilva Green Aparthotel later as we pottered about the house. The weather has broken, a little, by that I mean that it has just gone a little cooler at night and during the day it is now very pleasant and there is some air. Over the weekend we have also been catching up with the sport, Brian on Saturday went out at one stage with some mates to watch his beloved Everton – sadly they lost 2-0 to West Brom and when he came back there was no talking to him! At the same time Liverpool were loosing to Arsenal 2-0 also! Meanwhile in the Vuelta a Espana over the last 3/4 stages in the mountains the racing has been brutal and Froome has seen his hopes diminish further as Rodriguez has tightened his grip on the Red jersey; it has been the most exciting race in years as Contador has attacked every day but Rodriguez has held him off. In the morning Anna called in for a chat and gossip and to catch up with what we have been up to over the weekend.

In the early evening the hire car was dropped off so we got the use of it free for the night! We decided to go out for a little drive and ended up down in Duquesa Marina; it was a balmy evening so we stayed and went to the best restaurant in the port, acoordiing to TripAdvisor, “ Restaurante Asiatico Kinnaree Thai ” which is on the first floor overlooking the Marina as you can see in the pictures below; it was very good, the food was excellent and portions were large, the service was spot on and we had a very enjoyable evening. As you can see we went ‘Hot ’on our Beef and Prawn Curries *** and Brenda’s Lamb was very tasty, for starters we had ‘Poh Pia Thai Spring rolls ’with a very sharp and hot dipping sauce and Brian had the ‘ Tom Yam Gang Thai Prawn soup ’ -with the main course’s we also had the Egg Fried Rice and Thai Setam sticky rice ! We will return in the future and we highly recommend it .

When we got back to the house the film that was just started was the classic “ The Green Mile ” from 1999 with Tom Hanks and an excellent supporting cast including Michael Clarke Duncan who we discovered later had died that evening back in the USA,very young. It is a great film that is not to be missed.

Thought for the Day;

Friends are the sailors who guide your rickety boat safely across the dangerous waters of life.
