MANILVA END OF THE WEEK.

THURSDAY/FRIDAY 6th/7th/ SEPTEMBER 2012.


BRIAN AND LILLI HERE IN SUNNY MANILVA DAY 11/12.

It was lie in time on Thursday morning as we had nothing planned; the forecast over the weekend and into next week is more of the same – sun and clear skies with a pleasant temperature of 30 degs.Brian and Lilli shot over to Gibraltar in the afternoon for some shopping at Morrison’s for some essentials, they came back with lots of ‘Goodies’ When they came back Lilli went out again to catch up with one of her girlfriends down in the port. In the evening we had Meatballs in my Tomato and Mushroom salsa with Spaghetti for supper before we settled down to watch a film.

In the Vuelta Contador as he predicted on Tuesday has taken over the leader’s Red jersey when he broke away from the main pack and won the stage on Wednesday and now leads the tour by 2 mins. over Rodriguez who was not able to catch him as his teamates were not strong enough to help him.

Yesterday morning we shot down to Sabinillas in the hire car to do the weekend shopping and then it was picked up outside the Town Hall when we returned; Brian and Lilli went down on the bus to the beach in Sabinillas later and came home later in the afternoon, Brian then went out again to see some mates in the bars in the village and Lilli went out in a taxi down to the port to meet her girlfriends for a ‘ Wine by the bottle session ’ Anna had called in at lunchtime to catch up with us and our travels ! In the evening I had prepared a hot and cold ‘ Seafood Buffet ’ Brian made it back in time but Lilli came back later so had the plated version ! We had Fillets of Sardines topped with Tomato salsa,Langustines fried in breadcrumbs and very large local Gambas cooked in foaming Lemon butter; for the cold platter we had two sorts of Seafood cocktails which contain Squid,Octopus,Mussels etc local peeled Prawns and Crab and also Cod wrapped in Pimento and on the side a Tomato salad and Local Baby New Potatoes in their skins finished in foaming butter ! As you can just see in the picture below.
