A NOW CRISP & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 9th/ DECEMBER 2018.

Just a little lie in this morning, ‘Scoobie’ slept all night in little prince ‘Paddy’s’ bed, while he spent the night on our bed, he settles down and dosn’t move until we all get up, after a quick freshen up we went out for our first walk of the day, around the ‘ Plaza de la Vendemia’ – later today ‘Scoobie’ is due to be collected, we will miss him terribly and love having him with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ -  meanwhile ‘ Paddy’ is as usual for of beans, he love’s jumping up on anything, tables, chairs settees etc, he follows me everywhere and sits at my feet as I’m sat typing/posting the Blog, he’s being picked up later on Wednesday.

After a quick breakfast of toast & tea we got today’s ‘ Sunday Roast ‘ on the go; the local ‘ Chicken’ was rubbed with Sea Salt & Lemon Juice, before going in a hot oven, resting on a bed of  seasoned Vegetable Trivets, the ‘ Second/Vegetable Chef’ prepared Broccoli & Cauliflower Florets in a three Cheese sauce, glazed Carrot Batons & Turnips, whole ‘ French’ Green Beans & Garden Peas, as well as par-boiling the sliced Potato halves, which I then toss in the hot ‘ Goose Fat ‘ – ready to go in the over this evening, I then made a ‘Mixed Herb Stuffing ‘ and my famous ‘ Finger-Licking’ Pan Gravy, the aromas are wafting around the house.

We have yet another perfect day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – the sun came out early and the sky is bright blue, not a cloud in sight, as there is a slight breeze, by lunchtime it will be 20 degs+ - overnight down to 12 degs, next week is still looking dry & sunny, cloudy at times, with just the very slight chance of some of the ‘wet-stuff’ – hovering in the low 20s, going cooler during the week, next weekend is also looking settled, sadly the  following week leading up to the ‘ Christmas Weekend ‘ is forecast to be a little damp & cold, when both ‘ Charlie & Chico’ are due to arrive on Tuesday18th! Watch this space.

The “ Gastronomic Food & Wine festival “  has been very busy and very well received, yesterday the ‘ Wine Competition ‘ was very good, there were lots of local Choirs, including the new ‘ International Amateur English Choir’ which some friends sing in, today it’s the ‘ Parranda Bands Competition ‘

See below:

Just a quick update of the sports results; Liverpool won 0-4 and went top of the ‘Premier League’ as Manchester City lost 2-0 – their first defeat of the season (21) – Barcelona won 0-4 with Messi scoring two goals.

After supper this evening we will be watching the ‘Final’ of “ I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!” after the results of the ‘Semi-Finals’ of “ Strictly Come Dancing “

While I have typing/posting today’s Blog I have been listening to the ‘ Pete Black’ Road Show’ on ‘ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW’ – he has a ‘ Film Quiz’ – I got last weeks, I have also got this week’s one correct “ Love Actually ‘ with Hugh Grant! – so we are in the monthly  draw, again, for the ‘ Mug’! Watch this space.

A ' CRISP' & NOW SUNNY MANILVA ON ' EASTER SUNDAY & ' APRIL FOOLS DAY'

SUNDAY 1st/ APRIL 2018.  “ EASTER SUNDAY “ &  “ APRIL FOOLS DAY “

We didn’t have a lie in this morning, after a quick freshen up we took ‘ Bo’ out for his first walk of the day, down to the open field, at the bottom of the village, it means going down three steep slopes/hills, the problem is coming back! He’s due to be collected at lunchtime, we are going to miss him, he’s a very ‘ gentle giant ‘ and very well behaved, he eats all his food, twice a day, and has got into our routine around the house, despite being so big, he backs-up a lot around the furniture!

When we returned we had a quick toast & tea before getting this evenings ‘ Roast’ on the go, we are taking things very easy today, we are not going to today’s two final ‘Semana Santa’ processions, as they meet in ' Calle Cruces ' - which will then end up down at the Church this year.

PS; I will try and post some pictures on tomorrow's Blog.

Brenda has just been on the ‘ Skype’ landline connection to speak to Jenny, later today, Norah is going across to join her, so we will call again tomorrow lunchtime to speak to them.

This evening, lunchtime over in Everett, Ontario, Canada, we have arranged to call Sandra & Bill on the ‘ Skype’ video for a good catch-up & chat, to wish them a ‘ Happy Easter’ from all the family, all over the World.

This morning has started a little grey & overcast, with light clouds, by lunchtime it’s due to pick up a little, with the sunshine breaking through, hopefully, there is a slight breeze and by this afternoon it will be 16/17degs+ Next week is now looking a lot more settled, with the sun back, but still a little cloudy, reaching 20 degs + at times, over next weekend we are in for the return of the wet stuff, sadly, watch this space.

So are ‘ Easter Roast ‘ is not the traditional ‘ Roast Lamb’ – for a change I have roasted an ‘ English Loin of Pork’ with  ‘ Crackling’ and a ‘Mixed Herb’ Stuffing and Glazed ‘ Fuji’ Apple slices, not forgetting my now famous ‘ Finger-Licking’ Pan Gravy.

See the ‘ Roast Loin of Pork’ below;

The ‘ Vegetable  Chef ’ has prepared Cauliflower Florets in a Three Cheese Sauce, Glazed Carrot Batons with Ginger, Crispy ‘Curly’ Kale & Garden Peas, she also par-boiled the local Potatoes,  which I will ‘ Roast’ this evening in ‘Goose Fat’!

See the ‘ Vegetable’ selection below;

Just a quick update on the football results; Liverpool won 1-2, Everton lost 1-3 and over here in ‘ La Liga’ Real Madrid won 0-3 and Barcelona drew 2-2.

Last night after supper we settled down to watch last week’s postponed, back to back episodes, of the Danish crime drama “ Below the Surface “ over on BBC Four, we saw the first part but then the ‘IT System’ crashed and we missed the second part, I’m going to try and catch up with it on the ‘ BBC I Player’ this afternoon, watch this space.
