MANILVA NEWS UPDATE.

WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY/FRIDAY 1ST./2ND./3RD. SEPTEMBER 2101.

After our nice surprise of seeing Anna and Jordan early Tuesday evening we walked down later to Carlos’s house and caught up with all the gang; Sally Ann had flown in from Tenerife on business and had picked Jordan up,Dlyan was all ready here, Fabio and two of his other cousins were also at the house as well as the next door neighbours boy so it was mad house city,Domenico Sally’s husband was in charge of the food and Ana Mari, Carlos’s wife was her usual un- flustered self ! Mano who had just got up was expecting one of his brothers to call in, remember Mano comes from a family of twelve ! He was on his way back to Madrid with his wife after being over in Sanlucar de Barrameda,where the family come from, on holiday, also with him was his daughter and a friend. Mano had a lot of catching up to do with Antonio and so the place was buzzing with noise and chat in typical Spanish style; meanwhile Carlos was at work and missed all the fun !

On Wednesday we bumped into some of the clan again up at Bar Rojas as they planned the next few days; the weather is getting hotter for the Vendimia weekend and all the work in Calle Mar is progressing well as you can see in the pictures below; This morning they have been washing the street down and painting all the stone walls, the village is buzzing with activity. Thursday we are taking things easy and catching up with the chores around the house, in the early evening,on Wednesday the plumber called in and fixed a new gas boiler, the old one had been giving us problems over the weekend and on Friday we are going shopping to stock up for the weekend.

TOUR OF SPAIN – UPDATE.

Mark Cavendish was beaten for the second time in three days in a sprint finish; he has not got the support with his team in his debut in the Vuelta a Espana,Belgian Phillippe Gilbert retains the red jersey,Thursday’s sixth stage is from Caravaca de la Cruz to Murcia over 151kms.
